Recreation
Communal televisions are available in the patient lounges or individual televisions may be hired, at no expense to the patient. Newspapers are available in the patient’s lounge and a billiard table is situated in the upstairs lounge area.
Visiting Hours
Visiting hours are between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. every day but need to be arranged at times which don’t conflict with the group programme or doctor’s appointments. Visitors are asked to report to the Nurses Station on arrival.
Acute Psychiatric Services
Adults with a range of emotional and psychiatric issues are admitted for a variety of interventions including pharmacological commencement and review, situational crisis recovery, and observation and monitoring in the event of psychiatric illness presentation.
Adolescent and Young Adult program (AYAP)
The Adolescent Young Adult (AYAP) program was introduced to help young people suffering from a range of psychiatric problems. Following referral to a psychiatrist and a comprehensive assessment of the young person and family a plan is developed which may involve a range of treatment options.
Clozaril Clinic
Doctors may recommend that a patient be treated with Clozaril™, a drug treatment for controlling the symptoms of schizophrenia (for example, hallucinations, delusions, agitation, lack of motivation and deadening of feelings).
